In keeping with the recent Thanksgiving holiday (in Canada at least), Dr Dan and Jamieson discussed the effect that gratitude can have on health.
Improved life satisfaction, reduced materialism, less burnout, increased physical health, better sleep, less fatigue, improved job satisfaction, reduced doctor visits, reduced inflammation, more exercise, increased self-control, pro-social behaviour and patience are all possible if we cultivate an attitude of gratitude.
In this show we talked about the evolutionary origins of gratitude, its neurochemical basis, positive psychology, gratitude science, the effect that gratitude has on the body and mind. We conclde with some practical tips and exercises for how you can increase the gratitude in your life!
