A long awaited update to the Canada Food Guide has been released!
The previous version of the food guide attracted huge amounts of controversy, with some people arguing that the advice was out of date.
Dr Dan loves the new version of the food guide. It has a number of advantages, it is based on best available modern evidence, is MUCH simpler than the previous version of the guide and takes account of Canada’s ethnic diversity and cultural factors.

The new guide is divided into four sections: general advice and a foundation for healthy eating, foods which undermine health eating, food skills development and advice for those creating and implementing policy.
