Doc Talk #137 – You are what you drink!

In this show we talked about drinks of all varieties. We discussed some newer beverages which have been ascribed health-giving properties.

Percentage wise, I’ve got more water than a custard tart, but less than lettuce?

Learn about some potential risks of the famed kombucha, the hazards of diet soda (non-nutrititive sweetners), the health benefits of tea and coffee, alcohol and water!

There is some evidence that suggests if you drink more than once can a day of diet soda it can increase your risk of dementia, stroke, diabetes and heart disease.

We also chatted about some of the myths about water consumption, but there are some people where maintaining an adequate water intake is more important (for instance, if you are taking certain medications).
